A user from Gambia has presented her insertion itinerary that has allowed her to find a job and support for her personal and family development.
Last October 3, Kairós contributed the experience of its Social and Labor Insertion Service (SEISOL) in the presentation of the results of the Active Inclusion Program of the European Social Fund Plus in which participated the responsible of the Government of Aragon, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the European Commission, which finances 40% of the program.
María Jesús Giraldós, from the SEISOL service, introduced Oumu, from Gambia and mother of three children, who presented her experience in the process of completing an insertion itinerary that gave her support from learning the language and other basic skills to the acquisition of job skills that have allowed her to access a job compatible with her family reconciliation.
The FSE+ Program 201-2027 is aimed at the development of projects for the social and labor insertion of people in a situation or at risk of exclusion, to reduce inequalities and promote equity, active inclusion, increase opportunities and promote the participation of people in the community. The actions are developed through grants to non-profit entities in Aragon for the financing of insertion projects and integrated itineraries. The people who are assisted must have an open file in a Social Services Center or Minors Service of the Aragonese Institute of Social Services (IASS) or be in a situation of internment in prison or under guardianship of the Autonomous Community.

More than 4,400 Aragonese people attended to
The objective, as explained by the Government of Aragon, is to reach more than 27,000 people in vulnerable situations by December 31, 2029; at the moment, almost 4,500 people have been assisted.
The total financing of the program is 22,268,077 euros, being the support received from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) of 8,907230.80 euros which have started to be implemented in 2023 for an amount of 2,850,000 euros and has currently reached the figure of 4,409 participants in the projects.
The conference was presented by the manager of the IASS, Ángel Val, and Ana Isabel Navarro, head of the Functional Coordination and Social Inclusion service of the autonomous organization, and was attended by representatives of several of the Third Sector entities participating in the ESF+ in the three provinces: Fundación Cruz Blanca, CADIS Huesca, Fundación Secretariado Gitano, Kairós, Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen and ASAPME. It was also attended by the general director of Social Inclusion and Volunteering, María Charte, and was closed at noon by the general director of Financing and European Funds of the Department of Finance, Interior and Public Administration, Isabel Martín Retortillo.
Social and labor inclusion, a European challenge
The projects focus on people who receive within their cohabitation unit the Aragonese Supplementary Benefit of the Minimum Vital Income (PACIMV), the Minimum Vital Income or other economic benefits with an amount lower than the Public Multiple Effect Income Indicator (Iprem) as they imply a situation of vulnerability and need for inclusion.
They are also aimed at people or groups of people who are referred from the basic network of social services, IASS, INAEM and specific integration and inclusion programs already present in the territory that need to be complemented with other social insertion actions.
