Family Program
Family Intervention and Support Projects: We walk alongside you
At KairosWe firmly believe that every family has unique strengths. Our purpose is to help you discover and enhance them, offering you a safe environment and the professional support you need to overcome everyday difficulties.
We support families to ensure their overall well-being, paying special attention to situations of vulnerability, challenges in work-life balance and caring for people with disabilities.
Thanks to funding from the Government of Aragon and the Zaragoza City HallWe offer free resources that guarantee equal opportunities and improve your quality of life.
Reconciliation and comprehensive support for vulnerable households
We work to ensure that the work-life balance be a reality, not a privilege. We know that certain households face heavier burdens, which is why our resources are specially designed to:
-
Single-parent families.
-
Large families.
-
Households of migrant origin.
-
Families with limited support networks.
Safe spaces for children and adolescents
We support mothers and fathers so that they can participate in training or work activities while their children receive safe, quality care. Work-life balance is key to equal opportunities, social participation, and family well-being, especially in households where the responsibility for care falls on a single person.
We care for children outside of school hours. Your children need a place where they can grow up happy. We offer attention outside school hours by means of:
-
Educational and recreational activities: We encourage socialization and inclusive coexistence among children with and without disabilities.
-
Specialized support: We offer services for psycho-pedagogy, speech therapy, and stimulation for those minors who require individualized attention.
Family respite and care for intellectual disabilities
We support families who care for adults with intellectual disability, offering temporary support—at home, in short stays, or in shared spaces—that alleviates overload, prevents exhaustion, and ensures that the person being cared for receives respectful, safe, and tailored care. This support promotes permanence in the family environment, facilitates the continuity of daily routines, and contributes to the emotional stability of all members of the household.
Caring for an adult with intellectual disabilities requires immense energy. At Kairós, we care for those who care for others.
Our program of Family Breath offers temporary support (in the home, short stays, or shared spaces) designed to:
- Relieve overload of the primary caregiver and prevent burnout (caregiver syndrome).
- Ensuring care respectful, safe, and adapted for the person being cared for.
- Encourage them to remain in their family environment without disrupting their daily routines.
Training and Positive Parenting
Creating a harmonious home requires tools. We develop family workshops and schools where we work together to improve coexistence and prevent conflicts. We develop workshops and training spaces for families where parenting skills, communication, emotional management, conflict resolution, and positive parenting strategies are worked on. These meetings allow us to strengthen family bonds, improve coexistence at home, and prevent situations of risk or violence. We also create group and social spaces that promote mutual support, networking, and a sense of belonging to the community.
What do we work on in our group meetings?
-
Parenting skills and positive parenting strategies.
-
Emotional management and conflict resolution.
-
Prevention of risky situations and violence.
Beyond training, we generate mutual support networksWe want you to feel that you belong to a community that understands and supports you.
