The Kairós Family Program celebrated the premiere of “Goyo’s Awards”, a fun play organized by the Family School that turned the Teodoro Sánchez Punter Civic Center into a true inclusive film gala.

Inspired by a film awards ceremony, the performance filled the stage with humor, creativity, and audience participation, in a production that gave everyone a chance to take center stage and shine before an enthusiastic audience.

The event exceeded expectations and proved to be a particularly exciting afternoon for everyone involved. Families, staff, residents, and friends attended the premiere, creating a warm and emotional atmosphere.

“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the attendance and support of all the families, service users, staff, and friends who joined us and filled the center with warmth, applause, and excitement,” said Amor Numancia, director of the Disability Services Department at Kairós. “The success of this performance was made possible by the commitment, effort, and dedication of its actors and actresses: family members and professionals from the organization who, with generosity, creativity, and great enthusiasm, brought to life an inclusive, fun, and talent-filled gala.”

Participation, learning, and community

Beyond the final performance, the initiative has fostered a meaningful process of participation and community building. Through theater, the participants have worked on self-expression, self-esteem, communication, and collaboration, strengthening bonds and creating a space of trust and shared enjoyment.

The event also served as a small tribute to the 20-year history of the Family Program within Kairós’s Disability Services division, recognizing the journey taken alongside hundreds of families and the organization’s ongoing commitment to guidance, inclusion, and community support.

Through initiatives like this, Kairós reaffirms its commitment to culture as a tool for well-being, participation, and inclusion, creating spaces where people can share, express themselves, and grow together.Last Thursday, the Kairós Family Program celebrated the premiere of “Premios Goyo’s,” a fun play produced by the Family School that turned the Teodoro Sánchez Punter Civic Center into a true inclusive film gala.
