The Kairós Family Program is once again embracing the transformative power of the performing arts with a new play that, beyond its artistic merit, offers an experience of participation, well-being, and connection for everyone involved. “Premios Goyo’s” is the title of their new production, an original and entertaining play inspired by a film awards gala that will premiere tomorrow, May 7, at the Sánchez Punter Civic Center.

Launched by the School for Families, this initiative—full of humor, creativity, and participation—presents theater as a space for self-expression and sharing. Throughout the creative process, participants develop their imagination, build self-esteem, and improve their communication skills, all while enjoying a shared activity that fosters trust, collaboration, and enthusiasm for a common project.

In this edition, the event centers around a fun film awards gala—an original concept that will give each participant their own moment in the spotlight. Through this activity, Kairós highlights each person’s abilities, emotions, and talents, creating an environment where everyone can express themselves and play an active role in a shared experience.

The performance will take place tomorrow, May 7, at 6:00 p.m. at the Sánchez Punter Civic Center, during an open event that will bring together service users, professionals, family members, and others associated with the organization. Admission is free until capacity is reached.

Premiere and tribute marking the 20th anniversary of the family support program

Tomorrow’s premiere will also feature a brief tribute to the 20-year history of the Family Program within Kairós’s Disability Services division, which firmly believes that every family has unique strengths and offers a safe environment and professional support to help them build on those strengths and overcome everyday challenges.

Kairós’ family support program focuses particularly on situations of vulnerability, challenges in balancing work and family life, and caring for people with disabilities. The family school and its theater group reflect Kairós’ commitment to promoting initiatives that foster inclusion, in which culture serves as a key tool for strengthening bonds, creating spaces for mutual support, and highlighting each person’s abilities.
