On Tuesday, November 26th, the gala award ceremony for the X edition of the Third Millennium AwardsThe main objective of this program is to recognize the work of individuals, research centers and groups, institutions and companies in the Aragonese region in three main areas: the dissemination of science and technology to society, research and innovation.

Kairos received for the project "Metaverse and Life Plan. Innovation at the service of Inclusion". the first runner-up in the category of Innovation and Technology.

This is a project in which Kairos has worked with the purpose of eliminating communication barriers for people with intellectual disabilities and high support needs, helping them to build their own life plan.

That people with intellectual disabilities and in need of support communicate their preferences and what they want to do, is the main advantage of the metaverse launched by Kairós for its users.  "A cognitively accessible virtual world has been created, organized into eight dimensions related to quality of life.". These dimensions are equivalent to eight doors that users can walk through if they wish. One of them is their own room, which they can decorate as they wish. The program also includes a calendar of their activities.

Through this virtual reality, adapted with different visual languages, educators in the centers can find out the tastes, preferences and needs of the users.

After the good reception and recognition, Kairós will continue working to expand the tool and incorporate new functionalities, as well as to open it to the general public.
